The daily rate of new infections in India dipped below 400,000 for the second day in a row. In the last 24-hours, the country’s health officials reported an additional 365,027 new cases, bringing the total infected to nearly 20 million.
On Sunday, India surpassed Mexico in confirmed Covid-related deaths. The country has the third-highest death toll at 218,824 following the US and Brazil.
Globally, over 152 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 131 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.1 million worldwide.
Spain has not updated the status of Covid-19 cases since April 30, 2021.
