Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of June 21, 2021 at 4:00pm EST.

On Monday, health officials in Bangladesh logged 4,626 new infections, the highest daily increase in over nine weeks. Of the cumulative 856,304 total confirmed positive cases, 91.7% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 78 bringing the country’s death toll to 13,626.

Second dose eligibility expands across Ontario

TORONTO – The race for the second dose of vaccine in Ontario is starting again. As of today, after the significant openings last week, the standards were changed to be able to make the reservation: the goal is to be able to progressively increase the number of people completely immunized, also in light of the threat posed by the Delta variant. From 8 a.m., all Ontario residents who received the first dose of the vaccine on May 9 and before that date can actually book the appointment to get the second one.
