Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

On Wednesday, health officials in Mexico logged over 13,000 new infections, numbers not seen in five months. Of the cumulative 2.6 confirmed positive cases, 78.6% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 341, brining the total number of fatalities to 236,810.
TORONTO – A resounding no to Orchard Villa requests. The Ontario NDP is pressing the provincial government to respond in spades to the requests made by the long-term care home Orchard Villa to be able to expand the structure by adding another 87 beds and the license renewed for another 30 years. “The request is disturbing for the family members of the people who died in this LTC ,” reads the letter signed by leader Andrea Horwath and Oshawa MP Jennifer French. →
TORONTO – July 21, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,424,503 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 470 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – today reached 26,512 total deaths, 6 more than Tuesday. In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,393,366. TORONTO – Safety plans, guidelines, mask use, physical distance, maximum limit of students, vaccination obligation for school staff. These are some of the issues on which, just over six weeks before the beginning of the school year, our political class should start a serious and constructive debate, incorporating the indications and inputs of the provincial scientific community, trade associations and school provveditorati.
