Ferragosto Italiano a Dallas con l’Associazione dei Siciliani in Texas e il CTIM

DALLAS (Texas, Usa) – Si è svolto  in Texas il consueto appuntamento tradizionale del Ferragosto Italiano. Pur con le ultime maggiori restrizioni per il Covid emanate dalle autorità della città di Dallas e con una giornata caratterizzata da avverse condizioni meteo, numerosi italiani ed Italo-americani hanno partecipato all’evento conviviale grazie all’iniziativa dell’Associazione dei Siciliani in Texas (Saat) e dal Comitato Tricolore per gli Italiani nel Mondo (CTIM), ospitati presso i locali di Cibo Divino Market.

On Sunday, health officials in Russia logged 21,624 new infections pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 6.6 million. Of the cumulative total, 89.1% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 816, bringing the total number of fatalities to 170,499.

National security as a first Election issue

TORONTO – Experience tells us that some decisions are just bad. Full stop. We all make them. Governments, no matter how powerful or well-intentioned, make, them too. Eventually, they come back to bite us in the rear, so to speak.

The infamous War in Afghanistan is a classic example. What does Afghanistan, 10,000 km from Canada, landlocked and now one of the poorest countries in the world, have to do with us, one might ask? 

Canada is preparing to welcome 20,000 Afghans but shut down its embassy in Kabul

OTTAWA – Canada will be a safe haven for more than 20,000 Afghans in a “vulnerable condition”: the Minister of Immigration, Marco Mendicino, announced it on Friday during a press conference with Foreign Minister Marc Garneau, Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan and the Minister of Women Maryam Monsef. A commitment that adds to the initiative put in place for previous thousands of Afghans who have worked for the Canadian government as interpreters and employees of the embassy.
