Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of January 12, 2022, at 4:00 pm EST.

On Wednesday, health officials in Russia logged 17,946 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 10.7 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 91.2% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 745 Covid-related deaths for a total of 318,432 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

TORONTO – Ontario students will receive two rapid antigen tests when they return to class next Monday, but other than that, the government’s plan rests primarily on previously announced measures to keep schools safe during the Omicron wave. Daily update of Ontario’s Covid-19 Vaccination Campaign

With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 28.8 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. According to data last updated on January 12, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 159,877 vaccine doses on Tuesday, up from 141,693 doses the day prior.
