Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – 1,362 people are hospitalized in Ontario with or due to Covid-19, 212 of which in intensive care: today’s data could indicate a decrease in the number of Covid patients compared to the day before when the hospitalized were 1,684 (unchanged, instead, the number of people in the ICU), but it should be noted that not all hospitals report data over the weekend. What is certain is that ICU employment has increased by 7.6% in the past week and by 28.4% in the past month. →

With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 32.5 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. According to data last updated on April 24, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 20,928 vaccine doses on Saturday, down from 35,549 doses the day prior.

On Saturday, health officials in Italy logged 70,520 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 16.0 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 91.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 143 Covid-related deaths for a total of 162,609 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
