Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – Restlessness, stress and depression are the consequences of Covid-19 on mental health. More than two years have passed since the pandemic began, yet, new data shows that nearly a quarter of Canadians are still experiencing high levels of anxiety, with numbers essentially unchanged since 2020.
TORONTO – And about common acceptance that decisions so arrived are legally binding and enforceable. Thank God that is still the case, despite the disruptive human habit to shrug off decisions we may find personally undesirable. At the very least, talk/debate, replace shooting, stabbing and anarchy. Elections are a “civil substitute” for mayhem and violence.
TORONTO – Covid-19 continues to claim victims in Ontario: after the 63 deaths recorded between Wednesday and Thursday, another 17 deaths are added to the the sad list on Friday, Saturday 24 and today 10. The total since the beginning of the pandemic is now at 12,972. →
The political landscape in Richmond Hill is gearing up for a showdown between the PCs and the Liberals. The constituency is situated in the 905-region, about 40 km north of Toronto. It is considered by some to be part of the Ford Nation core base. →
With the largest vaccination campaign underway, the province has administered more than 32.9 million doses into the arms of Ontarians. According to data last updated on May 8, numbers released by the Ministry of Health show health officials administered 16,249 vaccine doses on Saturday, down from 29,471 doses the day prior.
