Coronavirus cases race out of control in India as the country records another record high spike in daily new infections. In the last 24-hours, the country’s health officials reported an additional 152,536 new Covid-19 cases. That is the highest single-day increase since the start of the pandemic.

Globally, there have been over 134 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 109 million people have recovered and more than 2.9 million fatalities were attributable to Covid-19.
