Medical emergency at venue, Poilievre’s Brampton rally cancelled: the video

BRAMPTON – The rally for Conservative leadership candidate Pierre Poilievre in Brampton was cancelled due to a medical emergency. An adult male was taken to hospital after suffering a medical episode Saturday morning.

Peel paramedic crews attended the scene at Brampton’s Pearson Convention Centre (2638 Steeles Ave. E) around 10:15 a.m.

At the venue, paramedics tended to a man in his 60s, in critical, life-threatening condition. He was transported, via ambulance, to a local hospital, paramedics said.

Poilievre briefly appeared at the gathering with his wife Anaida by his side, along with Andrew Scheer, MP for Regina – Qu-Appelle and former Conservative Party Leader.  He told the room of about one thousand supporters that the rally will be reconvened at a later date. He asked all who were gathered to observe a moment of silence and to pray for the man’s well-being.
