An employee, let’s call her “Suzie”, showed up for work only to find that the Wifi was out. She phoned Tech support, but no one was in.

Thinking quick on her toes, she managed to get some emails across by turning on “Cellular Data” in her cell phone. But there is only so much you can do to keep the company afloat for a regular work day by buying time on one’s cell phone. Continue reading

London vai sediar os Jogos de Verão do Ontário de 2024

O governo provincial anunciou esta terça-feira (22 de junho) que a cidade de London vai sediar os Jogos de Verão do Ontário de 2024 e receber um auxílio financeiro, enquanto cidade anfitriã, de até 1 milhão de dólares. Os jogos de 2020, que originalmente estavam programados para acontecer em London e adiados para 2021 devido à pandemia da COVID-19, não vão avançar. Numa altura em que o Ontário procura reabrir de forma segura e gradual, o governo provincial justifica a decisão tomada para proteger a saúde e o bem-estar de todos os habitantes do Ontário, incluindo todos os participantes, voluntários e funcionários envolvidos na realização dos Jogos do Ontário. London to Host 2024 Ontario Summer Games

The provincial government announced this Tuesday (June 22) that the City of London will be hosting the 2024 Ontario Summer Games and will be provided with a hosting grant of up to $1 million. The 2020 games, which was originally scheduled to take place in London and postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will not proceed. At a time when Ontario seeks to reopen safely and gradually, the provincial government justifies its decision to protect the health and well-being of all Ontario residents, including all participants, volunteers and staff involved in hosting the Ontario Games. Homophobia, the Vatican against the Zan-bill: “Catholics’ freedom of thought at risk”

For the first time, the Vatican officially asks the Italian government to amend a bill, appealing to the Concordat, the “pact” that regulates relations between the Italian state and the Catholic Church. The bill in question is the one born on the initiative of the deputy Pd Alessandro Zan and which has been in the spotlight for months in Italy because, according to several political parties, it could jeopardize freedom of expression by providing severe penalties for opinions that can be classified as offenses based “on sex, gender, sexual orientation or gender identity “. Omofobia, il Vaticano contro il disegno di legge Zan: “A rischio la libertà di pensiero dei cattolici”

Per la prima volta, il Vaticano chiede ufficialmente al governo italiano di modificare un disegno di legge, appellandosi al Concordato, il “patto” che regola i rapporti tra lo Stato italiano e la Chiesa cattolica. Il ddl in questione è quello nato su iniziativa del deputato Pd Alessandro Zan e che è sotto i riflettori da mesi in Italia in quanto, secondo più parti politiche, metterebbe a rischio la libertà di espressione prevedendo pene severe per opinioni inquadrabili come offese fondate “sul sesso, sul genere, sull’orientamento sessuale o sull’identità di genere”.
