On Sunday, heath officials in Poland logged 312 new infections in the last 24-hours. This marks the lowest single-day increase since September 2020. The official national tally is more than 2.8 million confirmed positive cases since the start of the pandemic. Of the cumulative total, 92% are considered recovered. As comunidades de língua portuguesa em Toronto responderam em grande número ao apelo que a vice-presidente da Câmara, Ana Bailão, fez para os residentes se vacinarem contra a Covid-19.
Ao longo de sábado (5 de junho), foram muitos os moradores de Toronto, na sua maioria falantes de português, que passaram pela clínica pop-up de vacinação Covid-19, no Davenport Perth Neighbourhood and Community Health Centre, para levar a vacina (Pfizer) ou, em alguns casos, esclarecer dúvidas sobre a vacinação em curso.

The Portuguese-speaking communities in Toronto responded in large numbers to the appeal that Deputy Mayor Ana Bailão, made for residents to be vaccinated against Covid-19.
Throughout Saturday (June 5), many Toronto residents, the vast majority of whom were Portuguese speakers, stopped by the Covid-19 pop-up vaccination clinic at the Davenport Perth Neighbourhood and Community Health Centre to take the vaccine (Pfizer) or, in some cases, clarify doubts about the ongoing vaccination. Vaccines, Ontario government accelerates: second dose to 70+
TORONTO – Ontario’s government is pushing the accelerator. Starting tomorrow, it will offer appointments for the administration of the second dose to people aged 70 and over. Under the original plan, the group over 70 was not to have access to book until June 14, and those who received the first dose before April 18 could not be able to rebook until June 28. G7 nations reach a deal to tax multinational corporations
TORONTO – A global minimum corporate tax rate of at least 15 percent but without giving up the new taxes provided for the tech giants. Canada welcomes the agreement reached at the G7 but at the same time, through Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, reiterates that the plan signed at the weekend will not change Ottawa’s plans, which from January 2022 will impose a new tax on big tech buddies. On Sunday, Pope Francis expressed shock and sorrow after “the discovery in Canada of the remains of 215 children, pupils of the Kamloops Indian Residential School in the province of British Columbia”.
During his weekly address to the crowd in Saint Peter’s Square Sunday afternoon, the Pope said he “joins the Canadian Bishops and the whole Catholic Church in Canada in expressing his closeness to the Canadian people who have been traumatized by the shocking news.” Continue reading→
TTC diz que conclusão dos trabalhos entre St. George e St. Andrew permite eliminar até 100 encerramentos futuros ao fim de semana
A agência de transporte público de Toronto refere em comunicado (4 de junho) que o trabalho realizado durante os três encerramentos de 10 dias em parte da linha amarela do metro vai permitir eliminar entre 75-100 encerramentos planeados ao fim de semana nos próximos anos, bem como eliminar a necessidade de um desvio das estações Museum e Queen’s Park por até dois anos.
