A plate in memory of Emilia Spizzirri
TORONTO – The square in front of the kindergarten section of the “Santa Maria” Catholic elementary school, on the edge of the old town of York, has been named after Emilia Spizzirri.
Emilia, Gianfranco Cristiano’s mother-in-law, worked in that school for forty years: the TCDSB school staff, the trustee Daniel Di Giorgio, as well as the Spizzirri and Cristiano families were therefore present at the dedication. Also present were the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, and the Publisher of the Corriere Canadese, Honorable Joe Volpe.
