Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

It is not that difficult an issue. Trustee McNicol was effectively expelled from “caucus”, not from office! It is a parliamentary principle applicable to all elected office holders that the electorate “gives” them the office to hold “at [their] pleasure”.

TORONTO – The Honourable Justices of Divisional Court in Toronto are deliberating allegations of discrimination in York Catholic District Schools Board. If they are looking for real life guidance on how trustees and Directors can evade, if not completely avoid (“waive”) their Statutory and Procedural obligations, they need only watch the video of the Toronto Catholic District School Board meeting of April 23 (see it here).

TORONTO – Unbelievably, that is a statement made by an elected trustee – to a Catholic school board, no less. Think what you want; those schools exist only because our constitution enshrines the right of parents to an ethics, values – based (religion enforced, “denominational rights”), Catholic education.
