TORONTO — Today, the Ontario government announced the ten members of the Premier’s Council on U.S. Trade and Industry Competitiveness. “The creation of this council comes at a critical time for the Ontario economy as certain players in the U.S. bang the drum of protectionism,” said Premier Doug Ford.
In another round of modified lockdowns and restrictions, the Ontario government introduces a new $10,000 grant for small businesses impacted by Omicron. The news provides little comfort to small business affected by this latest round of closures – the fourth time in the last two years.
The fast-moving omicron variant is fueling a surge of new infections. Not exactly the ‘positive’ start many were hoping for at the beginning of a new year. In just one week, the 7-day rolling average of new infections in Ontario jumped from 8,318 new cases up to 14,435 (January 4). →
