Toronto area school boards spent the better part of the last academic year drawing negative attention to themselves. The manifest disdain for process and jurisdiction at the Senior Staff level and the complicity of pliable Boards of Trustees has been toxic for publicly funded education.
According to Ontario’s Ministry of Education (MOE) projections, today 2,038,183 of the Province’s school-aged children will present themselves for class. It is an exciting day for them and a tension-filled one for their parents.
Next week we send our children back to school… maybe. Children and schools are the future of our society. In economic terminology, they are our most precious assets, and we invest individually and collectively in their growth.
