Conservatives and Liberals chasing Italian votes: a big crowd at the meeting with Pierre Poilievre organized by Anna Roberts
TORONTO – Election campaign has actually already begun and both the Liberals and the Conservatives are working hard to win the crucial vote of the Italian community. But the participation of the two parties in the respective events is visibly different, as can be understood from the photos we publish above (left, Conservatives meeting; right, Liberals meeting).
The photo at the top left is related to the meeting that the leader of the Conservatives, Pierre Poilievre, had with the Italians in Vaughan. The room was packed and welcomed Poilievre – accompanied by his wife Anaida – with great enthusiasm. The organizer, MP Anna Roberts, also participated in the meeting, dressed in the “tricolor” in homage to the Italian community, and the trustee Teresa Lubinski (in the photo below, Pierre and Anaida Poilievre with Anna Roberts and Teresa Lubinski).
The photo at the top right, however, is related to the meeting of the Liberals with the Italians at the Columbus Centre: despite the participation of the Federal Minister François-Philippe Champagne, the MPs Francesco Sorbara and Marco Mendicino and the Senator Toni Varone, people present in room were relatively few. Since a Minister of the Federal Government was present, the Consul General of Italy in Toronto, Luca Zelioli, also participated in the initiative. Below, a group photo with all the participants in the meeting.
