The positivity rate was 1.1%. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 9,099, with the death of 6 additional patients. Furthermore, there are 142,925 cases recorded in Ontario of the English variant of Covid, 1,156 of the South African one and 4,270 of the Brazilian one and 1,056 of the Indian one. Recoveries in the province rose to 531,278, 384 more than the previous 24 hours. 284 people were hospitalized yesterday, 249 of them in intensive care and 189 connected to ventilators for assisted breathing.

There are 8 nursing and long-term care homes that continue to register cases of Covid-19. Yesterday 15,356 elderly patients were infected in total since the beginning of the pandemic and 3,967 overall deaths recorded up to now among the guests of the same structures. In the same nursing homes until yesterday, 7,174 health workers were infected and 11 died.
