Status of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of May 13, 2021 at 4:00pm EST.
Today, Ontario reached another milestone as the total number of Covid-19 cases surpassed 500,000 since the first confirmed case in 2020.
In the last 24-hours, the Ministry of Health reported 2,759 new infections and another 31 Covid-related deaths. The rate of recovery among all confirmed cases in the province is 92.5%, slightly better than the national rate in Canada.
Premier Ford announced earlier today that Ontario’s stay-at-home order will remain in effect until at least June 2, 2021.
Globally, over 160 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 140 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.3 million worldwide.
