Globally, there have been over 126 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data.  Since the start of the pandemic, over 102 million people have recovered and more than 2.7 million fatalities were attributable to Covid-19.

As variant of concern cases increase around the world, the latest projections by the Public Health of Canada suggest confirmed positive cases in the country could reach 1 million by next week. On March 26, Canada reported an additional 5,093 cases. In Ontario, 2,453 new cases were reported, the highest since January 22, 2021.
