On Thursday, health officials in India logged 45,430 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 32.9million. Of the cumulative total, 97.5% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 641, bringing the total number of fatalities to 439,900.

Globally, over 218 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 196 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.5 million worldwide.

According to health officials in Ontario, due to a data clean-up, 9 of the 14 Covid-related fatalities reported on September 2, occurred more than two months ago.
