The surge of Covid-19 cases in Ontario reaches another record high. The province reported 4,812 new infections in the last 24-hours. That is the highest single-day increase since the onset of the pandemic. The number of patients with Covid-related illness in ICU rose to 701, a record-high from any other point during the pandemic.

Globally, there have been over 139 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 119 million people have recovered and more than 2.9 million fatalities to Covid-19.
