On Monday, health officials in the UK logged 39,705 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 9.6 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases, 81.9% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 47 Covid-related deaths for a total of 142,945 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.

Globally, over 253 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 229 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 5.1 million worldwide.
