Another record setting day in India as Covid-19 cases overwhelm the health care system. The country recorded an additional 345,000 new infections since yesterday, the world’s highest daily tally of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic. Covid-related deaths jumped by more than 2,600 in the last 24 hours.

Globally, over 145 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 124 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3 million worldwide.
