Millions of people in parts of the Philippines are under strict lockdown as health officials report over 10,000 new infections in the last 24-hours. This is the highest single-day increase since the onset of the pandemic.

Globally, there have been over 127 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 103 million people have recovered and more than 2.7 million fatalities were attributable to Covid-19.
