In the last four days, India has recorded over one million new cases, with an addition 354,531 cases in the last 24-hours. This is the world’s highest daily tally of coronavirus cases since the onset of the pandemic. The number of Covid-related deaths increased by 2,806 in a single day, setting a new grim record for the highest one-day death count in the country.

Globally, over 146 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 125 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.1 million worldwide.
