Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of March 11, 2022, at 5:30 pm EST.
On Friday, the Ontario Government removed 411 deaths from the total Covid fatalities summary which were previously classified as Covid-related. Going forward, the methodology used to count Covid-19 deaths in Ontario has changed. It will now exclude deaths not related to the virus. The Government said this method of reporting is in line with the categorization from the World Health Organization.
Today, health officials in Greece logged 21,260 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 2.6 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 91.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, authorities have reported 49 Covid-related deaths for a total of 26,473 fatalities attributable to Covid-19.
Globally, over 454 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 388 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 6.0 million worldwide.
