On Monday, health officials in Poland logged 199 new infections, pushing the total number of confirmed positive cases passed 6.0 million. Of the cumulative total number of cases 88.9% are considered recovered. Since the onset of Covid-related deaths, a total of 116,138 fatalities were attributable to Covid-19.

Globally, over 517 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 471 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 6.2 million worldwide.

The status of Covid-19 cases in India, Spain, Mexico, Portugal, Philippines, Bangladesh and the UK do not reflect complete data for May 9, 2022.
