On Friday, health officials in Mexico logged 3,000 new infections bringing the total caseload to more than 2.4 million since the onset of the pandemic. Of that cumulative total, nearly 80% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Mexico’s Ministry of Health reported an increase of 425 Covid-related deaths for a total of 222,657 fatalities.

Globally, over 169 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 151 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 3.5 million worldwide.
