Status update of Covid-19 cases worldwide

Here we provide a daily update of the data available for select countries and jurisdictions as of July 12, 2021, at 5:00pm EST.
On Monday, health officials in Bangladesh logged over 13,000 new infections, the highest single day increase since the onset of the pandemic. Of the cumulative total of confirmed positive cases, 85.2% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 220, the second deadliest day of the pandemic. On Sunday, the country recorded as many as 230 Covid-related deaths.
Globally, over 186 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 171 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.0 million worldwide.
Spain has not updated the status of Covid-19 cases since July 9, 2021.
Canada has not provided complete data for July 12, 2021.
Poland and Ontario have reported no covid-related fatalities on July 12, 2021.
