On Thursday, health officials in Mexico logged 20,685 new infections, numbers not seen since January. Of the cumulative 2.9 million confirmed positive cases, 78.3% are considered recovered. In the last 24-hours, Covid-related deaths increased by 611, brining the total number of fatalities to 242,547.

Globally, over 200 million cases have confirmed positive for Covid-19 according to Johns Hopkins University data. Since the start of the pandemic, over 181 million people have recovered. Fatalities attributable to Covid-19 now surpass 4.2 million worldwide.

According to number released by the Ministry of Ontario, 12 of the 14 Covid-related deaths reported today in the Province occurred between February and May 2021.
