Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – Ontario remains between 500 and 600 new daily cases of Covid-19: 573 Friday, 654 Saturday and 535 Sunday (latest figure released). Ontario’s seven-day moving average is now 537, down from last week when it was 596. 29,755 tests were carried out on Sunday: the positivity rate in the province stood at 1.8 percent. There are also two new deaths that bring the total in the province, since the beginning of the pandemic, to 9,790. (more…)

TORONTO – Ontario: 495 new infections today, slightly up from 466 on Tuesday and 463 a week ago. But still below 500, according to a reassuring trend that seems to be confirmed day after day. There were 613 new cases on Monday, 653 on Sunday and 640 on Saturday. The seven-day moving average is now 610, up from 692 a week ago. Today’s infections were detected on a total of about 36,400 tests in the last 24 hours, with a positivity rate of 1.7%, relatively unchanged compared to a week ago. (more…)
TORONTO – L’avevano detto appena l’altro ieri e così è: l’Ontario è entrato nella quarta ondata della pandemia di Covid-19, come conferma il dato di ieri. 513 nuovi casi in un giorno. Un numero che supera, per la prima volta da metà giugno, le 500 infezioni giornaliere, e che segna un significativo aumento giornaliero rispetto a mercoledì, quando erano state registrate 324 infezioni (321 martedì, 325 lunedì e 423 domenica). E comunque più del doppio dei 213 casi segnalati una settimana fa. Soltanto il 13 giugno scorso era stato registrato un numero più alto di quello di ieri: 530 casi…
