TORONTO – Tornano ampiamente sopra quota 600 i nuovi casi di Covid-19 in Ontario. Ieri la provincia ha segnalato 660 contagi in 24 ore, contro i 486 di martedì: la media sui sette giorni è ora pari a 625 (martedì era 600, una settimana fa era 496). È bastato fare più test (26.406 nelle ultime 24 ore, mentre martedì ne erano stati fatti 17.369) per rialzare la media. Adesso il tasso di positività a livello provinciale è del 2,4%, comunque in leggero calo rispetto alla scorsa settimana…
TORONTO – The new cases of Covid-19 in Ontario are well above 600. Today the province reported 660 infections in 24 hours, against 486 on Tuesday: the seven-day average is now 625 (Tuesday it was 600, a week ago it was 496). It was enough to do more tests (26,406 in the last 24 hours, while on Tuesday 17,369 were made) to raise the average. TORONTO – Per il quarto giorno consecutivo, ieri l’Ontario ha registrato più di 600 nuovi casi di Covid-19: per la precisione, 639 (zero i decessi). È vero che il numero è inferiore a quello di domenica (722 casi), ma segna comunque un aumento significativo rispetto ai 526 contagi segnalati lunedì scorso. Ed è anche vero che i test effettuati sono stati di meno: 20.000, rispetto ai 23.075 dell’altro ieri…
TORONTO – For the fourth consecutive day, Ontario recorded more than 600 new cases of Covid-19 today: to be precise, 639 (zero deaths). It is true that the number is lower than on Sunday (722 cases), but it still marks a significant increase compared to the 526 infections reported last Monday. And it is also true that the tests carried out were less: 20,000, compared to 23,075 on Sunday. The seven-day average is now 580, up nearly 24% over the week and a whopping 104% over two weeks ago. But transmission growth has slowed: in early August, cases doubled every eight days. However, according to Ontario’s scientific table, every 100 people who contract the virus will transmit it on average to 119 other people, and cases will double every 22 days. (more…)
