OTTAWA – The Government of Canada is working hard to resettle at least 40,000 Afghan nationals as quickly and safely as possible. Canada has now welcomed over 9,400 Afghan refugees, with more arriving every week.
OTTAWA – For 2 decades, Canadians have worked side by side with Afghan nationals to improve security, democracy and human rights in Afghanistan. Now Canada is welcoming people who face risks as a result of this vitally important work.

KABUL – In 2021 Afghanistan, music is also a crime. It is enough to sing to risk your life. And so Fawad Andarabi, who could not live without singing, was killed. The Taliban brutally murdered him. They dragged him out of his home in Andarab in the southern part of Baghlan province. And they “executed” him. (more…)
KABUL – Zakia and Hossain have made it: they are out of Afghanistan and could fulfill their dream of participating in the Tokyo Paralympics, the Olympics for disabled people who have just started. A dream that seemed to have shattered when the Taliban arrived, just as the two Afghan athletes, Zakia Khudadadi (taekwondo) and Hossain Rasouli (athletics) were about to leave for Japan. (more…)
