TORONTO – The contagion curve is still falling in Ontario. 458 new cases were registered on Monday and 390 today. Two deaths in the past two days, according to data released only today due to the Thanksgiving holiday. So, for the first time in nearly two months, the daily tally falls below 400 in Ontario. TORONTO – Now it’s the Delta variant that’s scary. In communities as well as in nursing and long-term care homes. And it is precisely this strain – which is more than twice as transmissible as the first forms of the virus – that is responsible for an outbreak of Covid-19 that broke out at The Village of Tansley Woods in Burlington. Until today there were 16 active cases among the residents while among the staff there was only one infection. When the outbreak began, there were just three confirmed cases. (more…)
