Leger Poll: Tory first party, NDP and Liberals are tied

TORONTO – As the provincial election approaches by leaps and bounds, according to a new poll conducted by Leger on behalf of Postmedia News between February 25 and 27, Ontario’s Conservatives are ahead in preferences while the NDP and Liberals are head to head in the race for second place. In voting intentions, Doug Ford’s Tories are at 39%. Andrea Horwath’s NDP and Steven Del Duca’s Liberals are tied, with 27% respectively. “We are practically two months from the kick-off – said Andrew Enns, vice president in charge of Leger at the Winnipeg office – starting from now on you can already see where the parties are in terms of preferences”.  

Covid-19: hospitalizations are still falling

TORONTO – Covid-19, for the first time in two months the number of patients in intensive care in Ontario falls below 250: today they were 247. And 684, in total, hospitalized, a sharp decline compared to 795 patients present on Saturday. It is also true that not all hospitals report patient data over the weekend, but the decline is still substantial and confirms the trend of the last few weeks. 

Covid-19 in Ontario: deaths, hospitalizations and the rate of positivity are decreasing

TORONTO – Covid-19 hospitalizations in Ontario and the rest of Canada are falling significantly. The trend of the last few weeks is therefore confirmed, negative only in terms of deaths: their number in fact has always been high and only in the last few days has there been a sharp decline – both in Ontario and Quebec – which, hopefully, will be confirmed in the week just started. But let’s go in order and let’s start from Ontario.
