The noose around the neck: why Europe depends on Russian gas

TORONTO – Europe cannot do without Russian energy products, gas first and foremost. If we do not start from this assumption, then we cannot fully understand the development of the conflict in Ukraine and the sometimes ambivalent attitude of some European states towards the Russian invasion. Just go through the official data provided by the Agency for the Cooperation of National Energy Regulators (ACER) to realize how Moscow in all these years has in fact put a noose around the neck of the EU, ready for convenience to tighten it, as is happening in the last 24 hours with the stop to gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria.

Toronto, a sanctuary city for immigrants from around the world, will provide vaccination to its residents without Ontario Health Insurance Plan

On April 30, the city of Toronto announced that it was partnering with the FCJ Refugee Center and Access Alliance to bypass the official provincial OHIP card-number based road to receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.

Until now, it has not been possible for people without an Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) card or those with expired cards i.e., so called “undocumented workers” to register for the vaccination.

Health officials in India have recorded a record high of 89,019 new Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours, the highest since September 2020. On Friday, India reported an additional 713 deaths attributable to the virus, numbers not seen since October 2020.
