Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

Toronto, March 22: Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been awarded the Gandhi Peace Prize 2020. The award was announced by the Indian Ministry of Culture this Monday afternoon. It is evident that this award was given to Bangabandhu in recognition of his contribution to the social, economic and political transition of the country by liberating Bangladesh, inspired by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. Toronto, March 18: Today, the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in a video message said the independent and democratic Bangladesh was built based on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s love for his people. He categorically said, “Something we are able to celebrate [50 years of independence] today because of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s vision for an independent and democratic country, one which was built on his love for its people.” (more…)
