Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
Created in 2012, Markham-Stouffville is a provincial electoral district that is part of the Regional Municipality of York. The riding encompasses the town of Whitchurch-Stouffville and the eastern portion of the Town of Markham, one of the most diverse communities in Canada.
As the provincial election campaign gets underway, changes in the political landscape are brewing in some ridings. The outcome following the June 2 vote may turn out new leaders in some GTA districts. One area to watch is Mississauga-Lakeshore (formally Mississauga South prior to 2015).
Oakville is a provincial electoral district that was created in 1999 from the ridings of Halton Centre and Oakville South. It is situated along the northwestern edge of Lake Ontario and encompasses part of the Regional Municipality of Halton and part of the town of Oakville.

Essex, a provincial electoral district in Southwestern Ontario, appears to be a riding poised for change. Current MPP Taras Natyshak has represented the constituency for the NDP since elected to office in 2011. He was re-elected in 2018 with 47.9% of the electorate (26,134 votes).
