Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – That Canada is the ‘promised land‘ for many people is well known but the latest population census shows that in 2021 immigrants made up almost a quarter of the entire population and are expected to represent a third of the people present in the country by 2041.

From 2016 to 2021, canada’s population grew at almost twice the rate of France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Italy. This is what emerges from the data of the 2021 census published today.

The time has come to know how many we are. The National Statistics Office of Canada reported that despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2021 Population Census will be held next May to paint a portrait of the diverse population of Canada and the places where we live. →
