TORONTO – The Conservative Leadership race seems to be taking an un-anticipated turn. Liberal senati (experienced wise persons) are taking an active interest in supporting and promoting one Conservative candidate, Scott Aitchison, MP for Parry Sound Muskoka in Ontario.
Travelling out of Northern Ontario, we head into the area of South-Central Ontario to focus on the electoral district of Simcoe-Grey. Situated along the southern tip of Georgian Bay, the district encompasses one of the region’s most popular destinations, Wasaga Beach, a two-hour drive 145 km north of Toronto.
TORONTO – Jean Charest is running for the leadership of the Conservative Party, Patrick Brown ready to do so. It promises to be a very crowded race for the leadership of the Canadian right, very far from the hypothesis of de facto coronation imagined after the announcement of the candidacy of Pierre Poilievre and the lack, at least up to this point, of credible alternatives to the Carlton deputy. Now, if there are no last-minute waivers, the succession of Erin O’Toole promises to be a three-way race with uncertain outcomes. Leslyn Lewis, the possible outsider, today confirmed her candidacy.
TORONTO – Erin O’Toole is no longer the leader of the Conservative Party. To force the now former leader of the party to the fateful step back was today the vote of no confidence by a very large majority of the members of the parliamentary group: as many as 73 deputies out of 119 expressed themselves against O’Toole and in favor of a new leadership, while only 45 mp reiterated their loyalty to the conservative leader.
