Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
The ups and down of the last two years may have many of us thinking it’s time to take a break and get away. However, the rise in Covid infections, the constantly changing requirements for travel and fears of getting stuck in a foreign country have many of us opting for a vacation destination closer to home. TORONTO – The provincial government is preparing for the 2022 elections, seven months in advance. Today, Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy introduced the Fall Economic Statement, a document that usually has a lesser value and that lays the foundations for the Spring Maneuver. We are in the presence of a real mini budget, with a detailed spending and investment plan, a clear indication of the government’s willingness to arrive at the next electoral consultation with a well-defined economic and fiscal platform. In the document, first of all, an increase in the deficit of 5.1 billion dollars is expected: the budget red, for the fiscal year 2021-2022, should reach 21.5 billion. (more…)
