Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
Christians (in particular Catholics practicing their faith in several of their Rites) are numerically the most persecuted in the world. They represent the largest demographic prone to seek refuge from their native soil.
There are few safe spaces for them when military turmoil, religious intolerance, caste systems or political upheaval upsets the delicate balance of social peace. The results are common: assault, sexual assault, extra-judicial killings, murder, pillaging etcetera.
TORONTO – With the data that are probably still affected by the weekend effect, today Ontario recorded “only” 1 death related to Covid-19, which brings the total number of victims in the province, since the beginning of the pandemic, to 13,226. →
TORONTO – July 5, 2021: Canada stood today at 1,417,415 positives for Covid-19, an increase of 473 more cases than in the previous 24 hours. The number of victims – nationwide – today reached 26,363 total deaths, 3 more than Sunday. In Canada today the number of recovered people from the coronavirus stood at 1,385,096. →
