TORONTO – For the first time in almost three months, Ontario today recorded no victims from (or with) Covid-19: the last time the province had reported “zero deaths” was last December 20. TORONTO – Another 20 deaths were added today to the tragic “Covid-count” in Ontario. But the total, since the beginning of the pandemic, is not 12,638 (12,618 deaths until yesterday, plus today’s deaths), but 12,149. The provincial health authorities, in fact, have decided to review all the data, removing from the total count the “suspicious” deaths: those not directly attributable only to Covid-19. And from a first analysis, there would be 489 previous deaths not attributable to that category. (more…)

TORONTO – The virus does not give up in Ontario: despite the comforting data of the last few weeks, today’s numbers show a growing with another 20 deaths and 779 patients with Covid-19 in the hospitals of the province, down from 914 last week but in sharp increase compared to 693 on Monday and 684 on Sunday. Of the 779 patients currently in hospital, 246 are in intensive care, a number down from the 278 on last Tuesday and also on Monday’s 249. (more…)
TORONTO – New decline in Covid-19 hospital admissions in Ontario: from 847 patients on Wednesday, they dropped to 834 today, the lowest number since last December 29, when the number of hospitalized patients was 726. Attendance in intensive care also falls: today 267, yesterday 278. However, the number of victims remains high: today another 19 people died from or with Covid-19.
