TORONTO – After the temporary decline recorded Tuesday, today the growth of infections in Ontario resumed, as already recorded in the previous days: the province has in fact 780 new infections (and another 6 deaths). Going backwards, the infections had been: 687 Tuesday, 788 Monday, 964 Sunday and 854 Saturday. A week ago, last Wednesday, they were 591. The seven-day moving average of new cases reaches 821: a significant increase compared to a week ago (686) and, above all, the highest average since last June 4 when it was 844. The positivity rate also continues to grow: with 35,300 tests processed in the last 24 hours and 780 infections, the index is now 3.1%, compared to 2.5% a week ago. →

With the three deaths today, Ontario has crossed the sad milestone: since March 2020, ten thousand people died in the province of or with Covid-19, despite the sharp decline in the number of deaths in the last six months, recorded thanks to the widespread use of vaccines. →
TORONTO – New surge in infections in Ontario: today were recorded more than 700 new infections from Covid-19, the highest daily number of cases recorded in the province in almost two months. Provincial health officials have in fact detected 711 new cases, up from 512 on Wednesday and 642 a week ago. It is the highest daily tally reported since last September 24, when 727 new ones were confirmed. →
TORONTO – Ontario today reported over 400 new cases of Covid-19 and 3 deaths. 409, to be precise, new infections, compared to 321 on Wednesday but still down compared to 413 a week ago. With the three new deaths, Ontario’s death toll is now 9,865. →
TORONTO – 326 new cases of Covid-19 and no new deaths. Data even better than yesterday’s for Ontario where on Sunday the infections had been 370 and on Saturday 373. With 18,397 tests processed in the past 24 hours, provincial health officials report a provincial-level positivity rate of 1.6%, down slightly from last week’s 1.8%.
