Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
TORONTO – It happens every weekend: also today the number of infected patients in Ontario hospitals dropped. From 670 patients last Thursday to 419 today, the lowest level recorded in five months. The last time that the hospitalizations linked to Covid-19 had dropped to such a low level was on 26 December 2021, when they were 373. →
TORONTO – Two victims, which bring the total toll to 13,072, and 1,122 patients in Ontario hospitals: if the number of deaths is lower than usual, the same cannot be said of the hospitalizations that increased today compared to Sunday when the beds occupied by infected people were 1,024, that is almost 100 fewer. →
TORONTO – Covid-19, the number of daily deaths in Ontario finally returns to zero: in the last 24 hours, in fact, no deaths have been recorded, after the worrying escalation of recent days. The total number of victims in the province since the beginning of the pandemic therefore remains unchanged: 12,972. →
TORONTO – The “swing” of Covid hospitalizations continues: one day they drop, the next day they increase, and so on. Today in Ontario is the day of the decline: from the 1,734 yesterday to the 1,661 today. 202 patients in intensive care compared to 211 on Wednesday. The positive note is that there is a constant good data (at least so far) and it is that of the decline in active and known cases: today 31,464 against 31,675 on Wednesday (32,747 on Tuesday, 33,905 on Monday and 34,520 on Sunday). →
TORONTO – Covid-19 hospitalizations in Ontario and the rest of Canada are falling significantly. The trend of the last few weeks is therefore confirmed, negative only in terms of deaths: their number in fact has always been high and only in the last few days has there been a sharp decline – both in Ontario and Quebec – which, hopefully, will be confirmed in the week just started.
