Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.

TORONTO – The debate in Quebec on September 2 between the leaders did not shift the balance of power between the parties. The confirmation comes from the last 8 polls carried out after the debate in French which highlight how the Conservative Party led by Erin O’Toole continues to enjoy a comforting margin of advantage over the liberals of Justin Trudeau. Jagmeet Singh’s NDP continues to play the role of third inconvenience while the percentage of undecided remains high. The gap that divides the conservatives from the Liberal Party ranges from the 1.5 percent detected by Nanos to 6.4 percent highlighted by Ekos. In general, tories are stabilising at around 35 per cent, while grits range from 28.1 per cent to 33 per cent. (more…)
The National Health Service (NHS) of the UK proudly reported that in less than a month, from May 17 to June 14, 2021, 5 million people logged into the NHS app.
In such a small amount of time, the NHS app has gained 2.7 million new users. 51,000 records, 614,000 prescriptions, 50,000 doctor appointments. Sounds like a success. (more…)
Last month, a former US senator and tv commentator, was dismissed by CNN when he said “We birthed a nation from nothing … we have native Americans but … there isn’t much Native American in American culture” to a group of young conservatives gathered in April to hear him speak about the religious values of European settlers in the US.

According to the UN, to celebrate March 8 as the International Women’s Day has assumed a new global dimension for women in developed and developing countries alike, which has been strengthened by four global United Nations women’s conferences, has helped make the commemoration a rallying point to build support for women’s rights and participation in the political and economic arenas.
