Etobicoke Centre: A competitive race with Liberals in the lead

 

Sandwiched between Toronto and Mississauga is the electoral district of Etobicoke Centre. The riding was created in 1976 and encompasses part of the City of Toronto, including the communities of Humber Valley Village, Markland Wood, Princess Gardens and Thorncrest Village.

According to the 2016 Census, Etobicoke Centre is home to 118,025 residents. It is a diverse community comprised of several different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. At 15% of the population, Italians represent one of the largest ethnic groups outside of the downtown core.

NDP and PPC curb O’Toole’s ambitions

TORONTO – The difficulties of Jagmeet Singh and the rise of Maxime Bernier are holding back Erin O’Toole. And, as a result of the inertia that has been created, Justin Trudeau is smiling, relaunching his ambitions for the conquest of the third term after those resulting from the vote of 2015 and 2019. To provide us with the change in the balance of power in this race for the federal vote is the snapshot taken by the latest polls that highlight how between the Liberal Party and the Conservative Party there continues to be a tight head-to-head on which, however, weighs enormously what is happening on the right and left in the Canadian party arc. 

Flamborough-Glanbrook: A stronghold for Conservative support

Along the outskirts of Hamilton is the electoral district of Flamborough-Glanbrook. It encompasses a portion of the City of Hamilton and an extensive rural area surrounding the City including parts of the Niagara Escarpment.

The area is unique in character as it covers a vast region, that is geographically diverse and home to 111,065 residents of several different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. According to the most recent data available, (2016 Census), Italians, at 12% of the population, make up the largest concentration of individuals in the region who originate from Europe.
