$15 billion given away to those not eligible, but CRA doesn’t care

TORONTO – Canada Revenue Agency calls you if $10 is “missing” (and if you don’t pay immediately, interest will kick in) but doesn’t think it’s worth recovering $15 billion. Incredible but true, so much so that even the “watchdog” of Canadian finances, Parliamentary Budget Officer Yves Giroux, said he was bewildered to hear the head of the CRA say that it was not “worth” recovering all that money, i.e. the $15.5 billion in potential Covid-19 wage subsidy overpayments. In other words, money ended up in the pockets of those who had no right to receive it. 

Ontario: kids ages 5-11 will be eligible to book COVID-19 shot starting today

TORONTO – Starting tomorrow, parents of children aged 5 to 11 can book an appointment to have their children given the Covid-19 vaccine. This was confirmed today by the Ministry of Health specifying that as early as November 25 – when clinics and immunization sites will begin to receive supplies of the vaccine for pediatric use – vaccinations could start. 

‘’Totoministri’’, Italian Canadians eligible for a spot in the Liberal Cabinet

TORONTO – The ‘’totoministri’’ in Ottawa is snapped and the Italian Canadians ask for space in the new cabinet. While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is busy with the delicate task of filling all the boxes of the future Government, the Mps of Italian origin elected in the ranks of the Liberal Party are pressing for a spot in the Cabinet. However, it must be taken into account that at the federal level the formation of a new executive represents a long and troubled birth, a complicated interlocking operation in which the prime minister must take into account numerous factors: geographical representation of the provinces, gender, ethnicity, religious belief and obviously merit, ability and political experience are some of the most important elements that can determine one choice instead of another, in the difficult attempt to achieve a balance between all the components.
