OTTAWA – In a granted judicial review of Shahin Sarker, a non-conventional refugee from Bangladesh, the Canadian Federal Court Judge Henry S. Brown wrote in his judgment that, “he was targeted by members of the ruling Awami League political party to extort his family’s grocery business.”
Toronto, July 14: Another mass grave has been found near a closed residential school on Kuper Island in British Columbia. The Penelakut tribe in the area said the mass grave was found near a school known as Kuper Island Indian Industrial School. According to the Penelukat community, 160 unmarked graves have been found there. The school was reportedly open from 1890 to 1975. →
