Welcome to the Canadian National Multilingual News Group (CNMNG). This is a project made possible through funding by Canadian Heritage. CNMNG aims to gather news researched and written by a corps of Canadian-based journalists/writers from the country’s multilingual community groups. The overall goal is to inform, analyze and critique the issues of the day in a professional manner and to provide that to publishers and editors active in the ethnocultural-multilingual press and media whose experience provides them with a perspective that is sensitive to news relevant to their own language group.
OTTAWA – Ottawa is unable to get out of the stalemate that’s entering on its thirteenth day. The hard core of the truck drivers of the “Freedom Convoy” has no intention of leaving the capital where the state of emergency remains in force. A protest demonstration that initially did not seem to create other problems besides the inevitable inconveniences, has become a nightmare for the inhabitants and law enforcement in the first place.

TORONTO – From Ottawa to Vancouver, passing through Toronto Quebec City, Regina, Fredericton. There is no end in sight to the protests organized by the so-called “Freedom Convoy” against the vaccination obligation. But patience, in the capital, is now running out. Police Chief Peter Sloly has decided that the time has come for his officers to go “on the offensive” to end this situation. “I worked continuously 18 hours a day to be able to get the necessary resources – said Sloly – now we can go on the offensive”.
TORONTO – After creating all kinds of inconveniences and getting the residents of Ottawa out of the gangsters, the truck drivers of the so-called “Freedom Convoy” also arrived in Toronto, Quebec City, Winnipeg, Fredericton, Vancouver, Victoria, Regina paralyzing traffic in the city center.
Toronto, July 6: The international press advocacy organization, Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is planning to publish a gallery of grim portraits of 37 heads of state or government who crack down massively on press freedom. Some of these “predators of press freedom” have been operating for more than two decades while others have just joined the blacklist, which for the first time includes two women and a European predator. →
